Luke,
You have discovered a new love...you walker chair! You push that thing all over the house. You were chasing me around the kitchen this weekend and you thought it was so funny. I have to admit, it was pretty darn cute! I remember when dad and I first put you in the bouncy chair, your feet didn't even touch the floor. Now, your feet touch and you scoot around the house! It's amazing what changes happen in one week at your age. People always tell you it goes fast, but it REALLY goes fast. You can slow down if you want to. :)
Love you with all my heart.

Mom
Luke,

You've started eating solids!! We started you on rice cereal and have since tried squash, carrots, peas, and green beans. Carrots by far are your least favortie. You are so funny, you grab the spoon and hold it in your mouth as if to say "where have you been my whole life!" Your definately a growing boy.

Love you,

Mom

Luke,

This weekend you witnessed your first Texas Tech football game! Well, you were at least prepared for it even though you didn't make it much further than kick off b/c it was a late game. Unfortunately, we played Texas and lost but only by 10 which is not bad all things considered. Dad was so proud to dress you in your "game day" shirt. The attached picture is your official Saturday outfit. We can't wait to take you to an actual game in Lubbock one day.

You have also started rolling. You go from stomach to back so easily now! Dad and I love to watch you when we get home, so entertaining! My how our lives have changed! Love you so much!

Luke,

This past weekend Aunt Betsy came to visit you! She couldn't believe how big you have become and how your starting to look a little bit like a Huber. :) She thinks you have Papa's cheeks. We shopped all day Saturday and you were such a trooper. I know one of these days, you'll be able to choose to stay with Dad and watch FB, so I'm taking you every chance I get. :)

We also spent Sunday with Meme and Poppy. What a great time we had! They are also amazed at your growth and love watching you figure out how to roll! Everyone thinks you have the best smile ever. I have to agree. :)
Went back to the Dr. this week to re-evaluate the rash on your legs and face. They are thinking its eczema which we are treating with antibiotics and cream. Hopefully this helps b/c your poor beautiful face is red and scratched from the itching.
You are still my beautiful, happy baby.
All my love,

Mom

Luke,

This week you had your 4 month Dr. appointment! The time has flown by so fast. You are now 15 lbs. and 13 oz. and almost 26" long! The Dr. did say that you might have a milk allergy and that is why you have red patches on your cheeks, arms, and legs. We've switched you over to Soy milk for whenever we do feed you formula so we'll see how that goes. All of the staff was oohhing and ahhing over you and of course you were flirting with the nurse. That is until she gave you the shots! I must say you were so brave though. They gave you the first shot and you barely cried, but then she gave you two more in the other leg and that did it. You wailed until I was able to pick you up and hold you, then you were fine. You slept all the way home and then all through the night! That expereince must have worn you out! Dad and I were very proud of how you handled the whole thing.

Love you with all my heart,

Mom

4 generations

Luke,
This weekend you met your great grandma from the Adams side. This summer you were fortunate enough to meet your great grandparents from the Jordan side. How blessed you are to still have these amazing people around so you can get to know them. I was never able to meet my great grandparents as they were gone before I was born. Unfortunately for us, not all mine and Dad's grandparents are still around, but I know how much they would've loved you and spoiled you rotten. You'll know what I mean as you grow up and see what your grandparents do for you! What a wonderful family to be a part of, and what a priceless addition you are!

All my love,

Mom

Luke,

You are destined to be a Red Raider! One of Meme and Poppy's very close friends made you your Red Raider Express rocker! Rex is so talented and we are so touched that he spent all the time and effort on making this for you. He is a sweet man and you are going to love him. Dad can't wait for the first Tech game so you guys can watch it together. :) Good thing you look so handsome in red and black. :)

All my love,

Mom

Luke,

This weekend we took you swimming at Meme and Poppy's house. You LOVED it! Dad and I knew how much you liked bath time so we figured you would like the pool, we just didn't know how much! Your cousin Megan is a little fish and I have a feeling next summer she is going to have some company in the pool. We will get you into swim lessons as soon as you are old enough so you can continue in your love for the water! :) It's so fun to be a part of all your firsts.

All my love,

Mom

Luke,

It's amazing how much you've grown in so little time! You've started laughing! It is the SWEETEST sound in the whole world. Your whole face lights up when you smile, even your eyes smile. I think you get that from Minnie, her eyes smile too, that way we know how genuine you both are. What a beautiful quality to have. Dad and I video taped you laughing and as soon as I figure it out, I'll post it here so one day you can see it too.

All my love,

Mom
Luke,

The past three months I have been blessed to stay home with you everyday! I can't believe how fast the time has flown by. This week, I will return to work and you will be staying with Bradie. You are going to love her just as much as I do. She is an amazing mother and friend and I'm blessed to have her in my life. She has two daughters who will keep you entertained! Never a dull moment with the Vera's. Of course, I'm only a phone call away and will be wherever you need me whenever! Dropping you off the first day was really hard, but with Bradie's support and your smile, I knew I was doing what was best for our family at this time. It was the first of many first's and you handled it way better than I did. :)

All my love,

Mom

Luke,

Since your arrival, you have blessed our lives in ways we have never thought possible. How were we to know we were missing out on so much until you came. From the moment I saw you, my life changed, of all the "titles" I've had before your arrival, (wife, sister, daughter, daughter-in-law, designer, aunt, etc.) at that very moment, mom was the title I was most proud of. I can't wait to see how your life unfolds. I pray you follow God and his will, and that God will use Taylor and I to raise you in his prescence. One day I will tell you the story of the day you arrived, but for now all I can think about is the overwhemling joy you bring to life.

All my love,

Mom

We are so ready for Luke to get here!! The nursery is all set up. All we are waiting on is Luke.

PUPPPS

Well after 9 months of the easiest pregnancy ever, I ended up getting the PUPPPS rash at 39 weeks of pregnancy. For those of you who have never heard of this, don't worry, I hadn't either. Basically its a rash that starts on your belly and spreads to your hands, feet, legs, and arms and is the most miserable thing I've had since the chicken pox. It itches and burns like you wouldn't believe! I took mulitple oatmeal baths and slept with ice packs all over my body. They say that 80% of the women who get PUPPPS are carrying a boy and its a reaction between your hormones and theirs. The only cure is birth at which the rash disapears almost instantly. I had never been so anxious for Luke to get here as I was at this point. Little did I know that I still ha 2 weeks before he arrived!!! I'll spare you a picture!

Brenda Parrott and Bradie Vera threw us the cutest nursery rhyme baby shower! They are so creative and thoughtful down to every detail. Friends and family surrounded us with love and gifts to welcome the little one. Doesn't seem like it will be too long now! Dr. appt. yesterday found we are 2 cm dilated and 70% effaced. Could be any day, could be weeks, who knows! :) Pictures of the nursery to come!

What a suprise! A number of our friends and family all got together and purchased us our baby crib. We are so thrilled and touched by such thoughtfulness. Taylor and Jeff ended up putting the crib together on Sunday night, it is even more beautiful than I had imagined. I've attached a picture of the crib and will send more of the whole nursery as it continues to get put together.

What a weekend! We had our first baby shower this weekend and what a party! Luke has no idea how loved he already is. Taylor and I were blown away by the love and generosity that was shown to us not only this weekend but throughout this whole process. It's amazing what a difference a year can make. Below is a shot of all the hostesses with the mostesses! The guys did a great job too but of course they were too busy playing washers to step in for the picture. I love you all more than you will ever know, I pray I exhibit even half of the friendship qualities you all do. I can't wait for Luke to meet you!
